How to Set Up a Sale
Setting up a sale in Espresso is easy and can be done with just a few clicks using the powerful Bulk Apply button and scheduling feature.
Step 1: Filter Your Products
After creating your new edit, the first step in setting up a sale is to filter the products you want to include in your sales campaign. To filter your products, click the header of the column of your choice and apply the relevant filter.
Step 2: Copy Current “Price” to “Compare Price”
Once you've filtered the products, copy their current value in the Price column to the Compare Price column. To do this, click the Bulk Apply button next to the Compare Price column header and select “Set to current Price”. The values will then be copied over.
Step 3: Reduce Prices
Next, reduce the prices of the products. To do this in bulk, click the Bulk Apply button in the Price column and select Set or adjust value.
You'll then see various options for adjusting the price. For example, go to the Adjust by % tab and enter ”-10” to reduce prices by 10%.
After completing this step, all the products in your filtered view will have their prices reduced by the specified amount.
Step 4: Schedule or Publish Your Changes
Once you've made the necessary changes, you'll need to publish them to your store for the sale to take effect. You can choose to publish the changes immediately or schedule them for a later time.
After saving your changes to the draft, click the Publish changes button in the top-right corner of the page.
You'll then see options to either publish the changes immediately or schedule them. Select your preferred option and click Publish.
Once the publishing process is complete, your changes will be live on your store.
Step 5: Revert Changes When Your Sale Ends
When your sales campaign ends, you can easily revert the changes to their original values.
To do this:
- Navigate to the Edits list in the sidebar of your admin.
- Locate your sales edit and click the action menu on the far right of the row.
- Select Revert changes.
You'll then have the option to either revert the changes immediately or schedule them to be reverted automatically at the end of your sales period.
