View and Handle Errors
When publishing changes in Espresso, errors may occasionally occur. These errors are typically caused by Shopify and can be reviewed directly within Espresso. Here's how to view and handle these errors effectively.
Viewing errors
To view any errors, navigate to your edits list from either the dashboard or the “Edits” button in the sidebar. For a completed edit, Espresso displays the number of errors that occurred during the publishing process:
To view detailed error information, open the edit by clicking on the title or selecting “View details” from the action menu on the far-right side of the row.
For any rows with a publishing error, an exclamation point icon will appear in the Status column. Clicking on this icon will display the API response Espresso received from Shopify:
The cell(s) causing the error will be highlighted with a red border in the table.
Rows with errors will not have any of their changes published. Any rows with a Successful status have been successfully published to your store.
If you need any assistance in deciphering any errors messages from Shopify, feel free to reach out to our support team.
Handling errors
Depending on the specific errors, there are different actions you can take. You can manually resolve the issue in your store and then republish the failed changes in Espresso. Alternatively, you can revert the entire edit, address the issue in the draft, and then republish the changes.
To republish or revert your edit, simply click on the action menu on the edit from the edits list:
